Farm System Breakdown – #2: Pro Bowlers

I know it’s tedious, but I had just enough details that I felt needed to review, that I didn’t want to start off each Farm System Breakdown post with 4 paragraphs of jargon. Summary

And finally, we get to the last leg of our journey. Pro Bowlers comes in at #2 overall in the CPL. There was little drama about who would be in the top 2, as has been the tradition for the last few seasons, but the order is finally coming into question. However, despite graduations from the reigning farm system champ, Pro Bowlers is still hovering at #2 overall.

There are 24 upper tier prospects in this org, so I need to get even more lean with how I break this system down. Obviously we have to mention Mackenzie Gore and Austin Martin. Two studs that could both be headlines. The next tier of 60/High level prospects houses 10 names. This is an absolute embarrassment of riches. For proper context, these 10 prospects by themselves would place compose the 10th best top 30 system. If you had just these 10 players, and 20 other players not listed in the BA book, you would have a top 10 farm. I’m not going to bother listing any, just read through them above. They are all good and deserve to be coveted. The next tier of 55/High houses another 11 names, including such immense risk/ immense reward pieces such as Hunter Greene, Heliot Ramos and Jordyn Adams. But we’re not done yet! 17 more names in the next tier of 50/High level players, including Jesus Sanchez, Esteven Florial and Yasel Antuna. 15 more names in the fringy/role player tier, followed by 8 scrubs.

I honestly don’t know where to start. At the risk of rambling on like a possessed fool for multiple paragraphs, I’ll try to keep this brief. This system is good. Very good. Very very good. There will be graduations. Many of them. Soon. And this system will still be very good. Pat should be expecting a decently high pick next season, and maybe even the season after that, which means despite graduations, this system could somehow get better. This is a wealth of talent that everyone dreams of having, and as stacked as the NL West is right now, it’s only going to get more stacked.

We should all be very afraid of what this team will look like in 2 years. And I’m calling it here, Pro Bowlers for CPL Champ in 2025.
