With all the information I have crammed into my draft research, it’s fairly easy for me to pull out some fun data to share, so I will continue to. Today, at the suggestion of Ray, I’m posting everyone’s best draft class. Now, as with all the other draft work Tom and I have done, it’s pretty strongly weighted towards the early drafts, since those players have had plenty of time to accrue WAR. Also, please be reminded that I’m using fangraph’s Offense metric for a ‘faux oWAR’ so it may not align perfectly with what baseball reference has for oWAR. Let’s take a look at the best draft classes for each team, and to save us all from embarrassment, I’ve only included the players who have a positive score.
