Farm System Rankings

I’m resurrecting a personal favorite of mine, and ranking everyone’s farm systems in accordance with each prospects BA grades and risk assessments.

I converted the risk assessment’s into values I approximated based on relative BA org rankings, which let me evaluate each prospect using a single value. For overall farm system quality, I simply add up all of those numbers for each prospect, and the higher the better. I used the following risk assessment conversion factors:

Extreme = 5
Very high = 7.5
High = 10
Medium = 15
Low = 20

This year, I’ve ranked everyone’s farm based on their top 25 prospects, similar to the BA handbook. Would’ve been 30, but some people have opted to only roster 24 prospects, so I had to compromise.

I will not be doing a write up for each franchise this time around, as that was far too time consuming, and didn’t seem to be that valuable. I may post farm systems a division at a time to show more detail.

Interesting tid bits:
At 1465 and 1468 respectively, Pro Bowlers and Banocolates’ NEXT 25 prospects would’ve ranked between the 12.5th place duo of Tom Cat’s/Scared Hitless and the 14th place of Mauling Tigers.
Kelly’s Heroes (1433), Rollin’ Goats (1423), Motley Shue (1398), Fajita Eaters (1378) and GI Zo’s (1348) all had enough to create a second group of 25 as well, but would have been solidly between 14th and 15th place.
Just to be overzealous, Banocolates, with 74 total prospects was (almost) able to roster a third set of 25 prospects, but the third set only generated a measly value of 1145. 
For prospects who were on the depth chart of the BA book, but not graded, I assumed they had a value equivalent to a 40/Extreme, for a value of 45. 
For prospects not in the BA book at all, I assumed 35/Extreme, for a value of 40. 
The best grade/risk combo of 80/Low would net you a value of 100.
Having a full roster of 25 prospects gives you a min value of 1000 and a max of 2500. 
Pat and Jeff are nearly half way to the perfect farm system of 25 80/Low prospects. Congratulations.
If Eric picks up any prospect for his 25th, he’ll have a minimum of 1333, a mere 7 points away from a tie for 15th overall farm system. You can do it!

I’ve invented a unit that I am referring to as an “Adell”, which is equivalent to a value of 80, or 40 greater than that of a “replacement” level prospect.

The Ball Buster’s farm system is equivalent to 6.5 Adell’s and 18.5 replacement prospects.
The Fajita Eater’s farm system is equivalent to around 15 Adell’s and 10 replacement prospects.
