1 more week in the books, and 1 more week closer to useful Magic/Tragic Number observations.

Magic Numbers are the number of categories a team needs to win combined with the categories the team immediately behind them in the rankings needs to lose for that team to clinch their position.
I.e. Your Mom has 24 wins on the season, and Baby Seals has 23 Wins and 1 Tie (good for 23.5 wins). As the difference is the slimmest margins possible, if Baby Seals won all 64 remaining categories in the season, Your Mom would need to win all 64 as well to maintain his lead. Or, if Baby Seals lost 32 categories going forward, Your Mom would only need to win 32 categories at a minimum to maintain their position. In all cases, the number of combined team Wins and opponent Losses equals 64, ergo, magic number of 64.
Tragic numbers are the opposite of Magic Numbers; the combined number of team losses and opponent victories.
I.e. Banocolates has 4 wins and 1 tie (4.5 total wins), while Your Mom has 24 Wins. With 64 games remaining, if Your Mom loses out, Banocolates would need to lose 44 categories and has at least 1 tie, to be unable to catch Your Mom for 1st in the AL and CPL. Likewise, if Your Mom wins 32 categories for the rest of the season, Banocolates will only need to lose 12 categories with 1 tie to clinch less than 1st place. In all cases, the number of combined team Losses and opponent Wins equals 44.5, ergo, tragic number of 44.5.

The story so far in 2020 has to The Big Hurts’ strong start to the season, giving them an enviable position going into Week 3. Of course, a close 2nd might be the related struggles of Mauling Tigers in the early going leaving them down, but not out for the moment.
With 3 games separating 1st and 3rd place in the AL West, the Magic Number for Your Mom still remains at a balmy 64 (out of 64).
Only 4 games separate 1st and 3rd place in the NL West, only allowing Kelly’s Heroes a Magic Number of 63.
AL East is a little more spread out as Tom Cat’s has a 5 game lead through 2 weeks, good for a 59.5 magic number, with the rest of the division a substantial distance behind.
Lastly the NL East has even more room to breath. The Big Hurts have a commanding 5.5 game lead in the early going, good for a magic number of 59.
