For no particular reason, I wanted to go through to do some evaluating of Your Mom’s prospects. I believe that I have put together Your Mom’s best organization, top to bottom, that we’ve ever seen. While my MLB club hasn’t really found their stride yet (or, more accurately, other teams seem to play their best games against me), it’s fun to look at the minor league players on their way up.
Instead of doing this completely subjectively, I gathered what I think are the 5 biggest lists to determine just how solid my prospects are. I looked at the top prospect lists from Baseball America, MLB Pipeline, Keith Law, Baseball Prospectus, and Fangraphs.
First, let’s take a look at Your Mom’s prospects who appear on multiple top 100 lists:

If you count them, that’s 10 players. Considering I have (currently) only 45 prospects, that’s a pretty good ratio, I’d say.
But what about those additional Your Mom prospects who appear on just one of those lists:

Hot damn! That’s another 6 players! Which means that Your Mom has 16 prospects who have made the list of Top 100 prospects from one of the big five.
But wait, there’s more. Your Mom had an additional 3 prospects who had been on a top 100 list prior to this year, but were removed only because of injury. Those players:

So let’s do a tally. Of Your Mom’s 45 prospects, 20 of them are top 100 prospects. That’s 44% out there for the nerds who like math. Just to repeat: 44% of Your Mom’s prospects are Top 100.
Now we can add to that. As the season is now 2 months old, there’s been a lot of movement on the prospect front. There are a few players on Your Mom who have climbed considerably up ranks but have not yet (yet) cracked Top 100 lists. They are:
- Taitn Gray- 1B- TB
- Tate Southisene- SS- Atl
- Yorger Bautista- OF- Sea
Any of you who subscribe to BA’s Podcasts or have been tracking prospects to start the year, you know how these three names have caught fire. It’s not outside the realm of reality to think that any or all 3 of these players will be considered Top 100 prospects by this time next season. Don’t believe me? BA Just released their Top 400 dynasty prospects list (on which Your Mom has 14 in the top 100, and 30 in the top 300) and Taitn Gray (#76) and Tate Southisene (#80) were in their top 100.
So looking at the data, I’m going to argue that Your Mom’s farm system is not just the best in the CPL to date, but it’s the best farm system that Your Mom has ever put together. I know some of you may argue, and if you want to make the case for yours being better, I’m excited to read it.
